Terms and Condition for Counselling and Therapy

Your Information and privacy

In order to provide services to you, we need to collect and record information about you. This includes information to help us contact you, process payments, provide psychological assessment and/or care and ensure your safety. We are also required to keep a record of the psychological services that we provide you. We take great care to keep your information secure. If you change psychologists, you can request to have this information sent to them. You are entitled to see and correct any information that we have about you at any time.

We store personal information confidentially. It is password protected in credible record management software that was designed specifically for the storage and management of health care records.

There are some instances where we may share your information:

1.           When making claims for rebates from Medicare or private health insurers, we are confirming that you attended appointments at our service.

2.           Referrals under a GP mental health care plan require your psychologist to provide your GP with updates. Other referral sources such as DVA or Workcover may also require us to share your information.

3.           We must comply with any requests from the Courts for information, such as Subpoenas.

4.           Your psychologist may share information if it can you or someone else from being harmed.

5.           Your psychologist may share limited information during supervision. Supervision is when they speak with another psychologist about practice issues to ensure they are providing the quality care and to continue professional learning.

When we share your information, we will use the most secure forms of communication available to us.

Fees and Payment Options

Appointment fees are:

  • Standard appointment (50-55 minutes) - $230

  • Extended Appointment (100-115 minutes) - $375

Payment options are:

  • Electronic transfer

  • Online credit/debit card

  • EFTPOS (for in office appointments only)

  • If you wish to pay by cash (in office appointments only), please let me know in advance if you will require change

Late Cancellations/Rescheduling

Late cancellations often result in appointment times not being used by people who would benefit from them. There is also a negative impact to my income and health. When an appointment is cancelled, or rescheduled, I will contact all people on the waitlist to try and fill the appointment spot. If I am able to fill the appointment time or complete a billable task during the appointment time, there is no late cancellation fee. If the appointment cannont be filled and I cannot do another billable task, the following fees apply:

  • 1 business day prior to the scheduled appointment (for Monday appointments this includes Friday, Saturday and Sunday) - 50% of the appointment fee

  • The day of the scheduled appointment - the full appointment fee.

Where possible, I will offer alternative arrangements so that appointments do no need to be canelled, such as moving appointments to telehealth, delayed payment or adjusting the time of the appointment slightly - please note that these options may not always be possible.
